Polyurea Crack Filling

Collins Industrial Services has recently purchased an AST GMP Metering Pump. So, we now provide the newest technology in Joint Filling, Concrete Restoration, Small Joint Sealing, Small Spall Repair, and Anchoring.

AST Pumps allow a contractor to fill cracks and repair joints with a multitude of highly sophisticated polyureas, unfilled urethanes, and unfilled epoxies.

What does this all mean to you? We can quickly fill joints and cracks with a rapid cure polyurea that will dry in 60 minutes, and eliminate cracks and joints. Additionally, the polyureas we use can elongate 460% so they will not crack and split as your floor expands and contracts with changing seasons.

	Benefits Include:

 460% Elongation

 Penetrates and fills without running

Sufficiently rigid to support heavy loads at joint edges

Flexible enough to absorb hard heavy wheeled traffic

 Good wear resistance

 Reduces stress cracking and telegraphing

Can be applied and cures at cold temperatures (-20F)

Roof Coatings

There are three major components to the aging of roofing products: sunlight/UV, heat and moisture. UV light is responsible for most of the damage to exposed roofing materials due to the subsequent photo-chemical reactions.

When added to heat, moisture increases the rates and severity of the deterioration process. When thinking of moisture or rain, we also have to think about the thermal shock associated with cool rain on a hot roof.

When choosing the correct coating it’s about using good science. A coating’s resin is what determines the chemistry of the coating, such as an acrylic, polyurethane, silicone, and so on. Having the proper mix of raw materials to give the coating the right performance characteristics on your roof is essential.

Adhesion is the most important quality coatings can have, if it doesn’t stick things like elongation, tensile strength and weatherability mean nothing. It is important for your contractor to perform an adhesion test on the roof with the desired coating.

There are 3 major reasons a coating will fail, adhesive failure, cohesive failure, and substrate failure. When choosing a contractor be sure they have the proper training and certifications to be able to correctly identify the differences. Not knowing the cause of a failure makes it impossible to deliver a solution.

Exterior Painting - Fort Wayne, IN

Exterior Painting – Fort Wayne, IN

With spring just around the corner it’s time to start thinking about your exterior painting projects. Here in Northeastern Indiana spring can be a challenging time for exterior painting and coatings projects. There is plenty of moisture in the air and rain coming down to complicate coating applications. Also, unless your building is completely surrounded by asphalt or concrete, an aerial lift is going to sink into your lawn.

At Collins Industrial Services we are well aware of these problems, and having worked in the Fort Wayne Indiana area for almost 20 years we have a long standing track record of success. We at Collins Industrial Services are always reinventing ways to successfully complete difficult projects; we are not just another industrial painting contractor.

If you are thinking about waiting until summer for your exterior painting projects that is no picnic either. As the sun begins to beat down on your building’s exterior the surface temperature will spike. Many coatings will “flash”; this is when paint dries unevenly due to increased surface temperatures. It does not affect the color but it does change the finish, making your building look streaky.

With the proper product selection, monitoring of environmental conditions (humidity, due points, surface and ambient temperatures) and a few other time tested tricks, Collins Industrial Services will make sure that your exterior painting project will look great no matter the time of year.

Let us put our knowledge and decades of experience as a premier industrial painting contractor to work for you.

Water Jetting with 40,000 PSI

Yesterday, Aug 23th, we successfully completed the water jetting training course for equipment, assessories and most importantly safety on the 40,000 PSI units.

Water Jetting is a great tool for cleaning and removing coatings, 40,000 PSI with a rotating lance will easily remove and epoxy coating from a steel structure without the mess and hassle of dry media.

The primary advantage for the customer is speed. With water jetting we will be able to complete the project and have your facility back in full production much faster than with traditonal media blasting. Because of the inherant properties of water there will be zero dust while we are blasting, and once the water dries the only debris are those which we removed from your structure. On large projects this means your facility can be back in operation much faster because we will not have to slow down or stop our process in order to clean up blasting media.

Additionally, no media (coal slag, shot, corn cob) to get in every nook it can find. Traditional media blasting is a lot like going to the beach, you are going to find sand everyewhere for a long time after the project is complete (no matter how good the clean up is by the contractor).
